Addiction can be everywhere

Last night during the 2024 homerun derby, signer Ingrid Andress did an awful performance of the national anthem. It was so bad that many people thought they were being pranked or it was a joke.

This morning we’ve come to find out that the singer was drunk, and that she has checked herself into rehab for alcohol abuse. She wrote a post on her Instagram stating: “I’m not gonna bullshit y’all, I was drunk last night,” she wrote on Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). “I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need. That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition. I’ll let y’all know how rehab is. I hear it’s super fun.” She signed the missive “xo, Ingrid.”

As you can see Addiction is everywhere in our world and only when we work together to overcome this, can we all move forward in life. I wish her well in her recovery and that she gets the resources she needs to recognize the self love that she’s worthy and can continue onward in light and not darkness.

As my name suggests, all can do better. This is a great example of that, and not to beat yourself up because addiction affects us all. Don’t let it continue affecting you! AND furthermore I encourage you to become active on this forum to help encourage and motivate others to beat their addiction.

For more details, here’s a Vanity Fair article on the incident.

Wow I saw this performance and couldn’t believe it. The singers post this morning about her alcohol abuse addiction makes perfect sense now. Pray she gets the help she needs

Weirdly inspiring in a way. I’ve never had such a public embarrassment before , but if she can get help so can I.

This forum is addicting.
